My name is Ranna. I'm a researcher by profession, but I equally care about creative expression.. in the form of music, writing and design. Both my parents are artists. My father is a theatre maker (writing, directing, playing) and an Arabic language magician. He writes books and poetry... about life, himself, politics. My mother is into arts and crafts (poster making, analog illustration, decorative arts), textile arts like embroidery and sewing quite literally anything you can possibly imagine. There's no denying that growing up and seeing them perform their craft became a part of me. The past years my creativity died off.. Life happened, as they say. I'm reviving my creative muscle and this page is the first attempt at that. What exactly you will see on here will develop organically over time. At the moment I'm into graphic design and writing about life.
I also care about community, but community is complex to me. Growing up between two, almost opposing, cultures creates feelings of un-belonging. Nowhere fully accepted. Hence, you create your own space. A space not many people will understand or appreciate. My work reflects this. Always roaming, never landing.
